Decoding Store Analytics: What to Track Weekly to Grow Sales
Decoding Store Analytics: What to Track Weekly to Grow Sales (Even If You’re Not a Data Person)
You don’t need a data team. You need a short, sharp weekly ritual.
1. Visitors & Conversion Rate
- Check:
- Total visitors
- Orders
- Conversion rate = Orders ÷ Visitors
If visitors grow but conversion drops, fix store experience, not ads.
2. Add-to-Cart & Checkout Start Rate
Look for:
- % of visitors adding to cart
- % of carts starting checkout
Low add-to-cart → product/price/trust issue.
High add-to-cart, low checkout → friction at cart/checkout.
3. Average Order Value (AOV)
AOV tells you:
- Combos
- Cross-sells
- Free shipping thresholds
to gently increase it.
4. New vs Returning Customers
Track:
- What % of orders are repeat.
- Are repeat customers spending more?
If yes, protect that group with good service and targeted benefits.
5. Payment & COD Performance
Watch:
- Success rate of online payments
- COD share
- RTO rate where visible
Talk to each group differently. You don’t need complex tools—just clarity and discipline.
6. Product & Category Performance
Identify:
- Top 10 SKUs by sales + margin
- Slow movers
Decide:
- Promote winners
- Rethink or bundle slow items
